THE IMPACT OF FUTSAL

LEARNING
THAT CREATES
IMPACT.

At Vasco Da Lor, we have spent more than two decades developing players. Futsal is part of that process, but the player's individual quality is what turns opportunity into impact.

The question is not simply how much Futsal a player needs. The question is what the player is learning and what clear picture and purpose sit behind the work.

We want learning to be a consistent part of development. We are not here to overload players with information. We are here to improve each player's knowledge and understanding of the game.

THE GAME BEGINS WITH UNDERSTANDING

THINK TWO OR THREE SECONDS FASTER.

The relationship begins with the ball and with a player learning how to manipulate movement, awareness, and space. Futsal brings those moments into sharp focus: less time, limited space, and a greater demand for intelligent speed.

Futsal is pivotal to our process, not simply as a winter activity, but as an integral part of developing technical quality, decision-making, adaptability at the highest level, and the ability to become a difference-maker in games.

02 / SPEED OF THOUGHTSEE THE PICTURE. SOLVE THE MOMENT.

During a player's formative years, we want technique and understanding to grow together. Controlling the ball matters, but what does that control allow the player to do?

01

ESCAPE PRESSURE?

Can the player use a turn, touch, or change of direction to protect the ball and move into a better picture?

02

FIND A TEAMMATE?

Can the player recognize when a pass releases someone else and helps the team move forward?

03

CREATE AN ADVANTAGE?

Can the player carry, combine, or wait long enough to create a better option?

We want players to explore these questions each season, improvise, and discover solutions they can take onto the soccer field.

QUESTIONING YOUR DEVELOPMENT

YOU HAVE LEARNED THE SKILL.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHEN TO USE IT?

Performing a skill is one part of development. Recognizing when and where it helps is the next.

01

A TURN

To escape pressure.

02

A PASS

To release a teammate.

03

A DRIBBLE

To create an advantage.

The challenge is not to show everything a player has practiced. It is to read the situation and choose what helps the team. Sometimes that means beating an opponent. Sometimes it means playing a simple pass or keeping the ball until a better option appears.

HARDTRUTH

Does your child feel safe asking their coach a question?

Who coached your child last season?

Are they learning one system consistently?

What happens when the environment cannot help them answer the questions they have?

A PLAYER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN

ASKING
AND BELONGING.

Not every quiet player understands. Sometimes a player is simply afraid to admit they do not. If asking a question might make the coach think less of them, what are we teaching: to understand the game, or to stay quiet? Are we welcoming curiosity, or building robots?

We ask players to think independently, recognize problems, make decisions, and learn from mistakes. The coaching environment should invite that same thinking. A question is not automatically a challenge to authority.

The development environment should give a player the confidence to offer a solution, even when it is not the right one. Let them explain what they saw. Then help them see what they missed and improve.

OUR FUTSAL IDEA

THE GAME
TEACHES.
WE GUIDE.

Technical detail belongs inside the game.

We connect individual creativity with intelligent movement and collective responsibility. Players learn patterns without having every answer scripted for them. They are encouraged to take risks without losing purpose and to understand not only what to do, but when, how, and why.

A DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

ONE CLUB.
THREE STARTING POINTS.

Age helps begin the conversation. The right challenge depends on experience, confidence, current ability, and the details each player needs next.

THE VDL STANDARD

SEE THE PLAYER.
COACH THE MOMENT.

Clear feedback connects body control, technique, and game understanding. Every exercise should help the player recognize a picture they will meet again in the game.

  1. 01BEFORE THE BALL Scan for space, pressure, and the next option.
  2. 02ON THE BALL Make the first touch and decision mean something.
  3. 03AFTER THE ACTION Move again, support, and react immediately.
